Henri Catrier Bresson

I really like this photo because it screams 'loss of innocence' to me. There is a long line of soldiers and then a little girl is peaking her head out from between them. It shows that war touches everyones lives and that it takes so much away. I think that this is a powerful photograph because of the contrast of size between the big, strong soldiers and the sweet little girl holding flowers.

Dorothea Lange

Active 1907-1957
I really respect and enjoy her photography because she shows what human suffering really looks like. She doesn't sugar coat how mistreated and miserable the victims of poverty were during the Great Depression. Lange is able to capture the struggle of these people in a photograph and reveal what is really going on to the outside world. To me, she is taking more than just a picture, to me, she is capturing the truth.
